Workers Study

Well, the study did not focus on the patients who were unemployed, students, retired, or any patient who was involved in an accident. The average age of such patients was 42.5 years old and they were between the age of 19 and 60. The work type is broken down into heavy work, medium work, sedentary, and work type unknown.

 

What were the patients diagnosed with?

The patients were diagnosed with spinal deformity, disc herniation, recurrent disc, unstable vertebra, or arthritic conditions. All the patients were asked to fill the questionnaires on how they feel and how they are doing following the surgery. On average, the patients were asked about these questions on how they felt four years following the surgery.

 

Severity of pain

The patients were also asked about the medications they need to take and the pain severity. On average, the patients complain about the pain on 6 to 7 out of 10. The pain got improved one year following the surgery and it was around 2 or 3 out of 10.

For the patients who have undergone a large surgical procedure has improved the pain to 7 out of 10 from 3 out of 10.
