Arthritis in the knee is a condition in which the knee affects the cartilage, bones, and synovium inside the joints. The cartilage is a tissue found on the upper surface of the bones and it helps in smoothing of the joints.

Synovium is a soft tissue line around the joints and produces the fluid called synovial fluid and it acts as a lubricant and helps in joints movement, it provides carbohydrates and nutrients to the cartilage.

Pain relief and anti-inflammatory drugs:

Here, some Over the counter drugs can be given mainly a class of NSAIDs, for example,  Tylenol, Motrin, Aleve, these drugs are not taken for more than 10 days without consulting your Doctor. The chance of side effects can increase while taking it for longer and if they don’t provide relief, the concerned Doctor may give you a prescription of anti-inflammatory drugs or some other drugs to help ease your pain.

Exercises:

Doing exercises every time helps in strengthening the muscles around the knee which makes it become stable and decrease the pain and also help to keep the knee joint mobile and flexible.

Surgery:

This is the last option to use when other treatment doesn’t work, you need to go for a surgery of your Knee which is a better option.
